Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 5, 2026

BirthdayAlert ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") is designed with privacy as a first principle. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what we do not do with it.

1. Information We Access

Contacts. The App requests permission to read your device's Contacts in order to find birthdays associated with your contacts. This data is read locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service.

Notification permissions. The App requests permission to schedule local notifications. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and no notification content is sent off your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

3. Data Storage

All App preferences (such as notification time and repeat settings) are stored locally using iOS's standard UserDefaults mechanism on your device. No data leaves your device.

4. Children's Privacy

BirthdayAlert does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because the App collects no data at all, it poses no special risk to children's privacy.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party SDKs, analytics providers, or advertising networks. All functionality is implemented using Apple's native frameworks (Contacts, UserNotifications, SwiftUI).

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
